I want to thank all of the
people who wrote with memories and/or information on Steven's family. It
is hard to explain, but this search took on a life of its own. We
still have not gotten in direcct contact with steven's mother and sister,
who live in Florida. However, Mrs. Goldstein from California has
written to Steven's mother via the cemetery where he is buried, here on
Long Island. I have visited his grave, and paid my respects.
In some way, that did give us a sense of
closure.
If there is still anyone
who may know how to contact Steven's mother, please contact me.
Thanks again for your help.

Did anyone know Steven Victor Goldstein?
His name was seen by a couple in California who visited an exhibit of the Viet Nam Memorial Wall. Their name is Goldstein, so they looked up that name in the directory. Steven was listed, with Far Rockaway as his home town. He was born Aug. 10,1945, so would have graduated in the early 60's. He was only 22 when he was killed in Viet Nam, so he may have also lived here during his high school years. The Goldsteins in California sent letters to several Goldsteins in Far Rockaway, but have not found anyone who was a relative, or knew Steven. They wanted to let his family know that someone had visited his name and left a rose. I heard about the letter, and offered to post info on the FRHS site, hoping someone would know where Steven's family might be contacted.
If anyone reading this knew Steven, or might know where to reach any of his relatives, you can contact me, and I will forward the information to the Goldsteins in California.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
