Sorry to inform you of the passing of David Shnayer, Class of 1976 on Saturday, November 17, 2007.  David bravely fought Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma for 3 years, but being only 49 yrs old when he lost his fight, makes this all the more tragic & devastating for our family. He leaves behind a loving & devoted wife, a wonderful legacy in my 22yr old nephew & parents & a sister who loved him with all their being.

Hi Skip,

David, Steven Goldstein and I were the 3 Musketeers in High School. He was the first out of all of our friends to get married and have a child. David was kind and gracious and always had a nice word to say. Even when he was diagnosed, he was always positive. The one thing he always told us was - “Life is short, live it everyday, and spend time with your family and friends”. We lost a great comrade and friend, he was our third Musketeer, we will miss him dearly.

Hi Skip,

My name is Josh Shnayer, I'm Dave Shnayer's son. I just wanted to thank you for the acknowledgment of Dad's passing, and getting the word out to those who I may have not been able to get in touch with. This is a wonderful thing that you are doing, and I am very grateful for it.

Dad loved Far Rockaway. He loved telling me stories of his youth, and often it surrounded his high school days. I'm glad you were able to keep his memories alive by letting people share theirs.

Hi Skip –

My name is Rocky Harris and I am a graduate of the class of 1976 and classmate of Dave Shnayer. We played on the baseball team together. I consider Dave to have been a good friend and I will miss him greatly.

I attended our 30 year reunion in 2006 and was able to talk with Dave about old times at Far Rock and what we’ve done in life since high school. The whole reunion and seeing Dave was an experience I will not forget. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
