Beach Channel Drive is a very busy thoroughfare!  Don't be fooled by the lack of vehicles depicted in the photographs - it gets heavy traffic.  The "State Diner" on the southeast corner has been replaced by a McDonald's restaurant.  A two-story red brick building on the northeast corner has been sitting on that spot for the past 80 years, and a small "strip mall" of stores on the southwest corner has been there just as long.  The northwest corner is now a White Castle - a fire having destroyed a building group (Arco Drugstore, Empire Hardware) years ago.  We took many pictures of the intersection and tried to present as complete an image as possible of this vital area - including several shots taken going east onto Mott Avenue up to the shopping center.
