The following letter was recieved from Beth Wolff (Wolfer), Class of 1962.
Hi Skip,
I am Beth Wolff (Wolfer) and my family
moved back to Rockaway when I was in the 7th grade. I was born in Arverne
and we moved out of state after I finished the first grade in Bayswater.
I do not know the name of the grade school but I think there was only one
then.
I have been enjoying reading messages
and stories posted by my classmates and I just found I had the attached
photos from summers on the beach at 119th Street (I think that is where
we hung out) with classmates from 1961 and 1962. I can identify most
of the people in these photos. The first photo I know had Carol Berkson
(62) on the top and I think the boys on the bottom were summer kids
but I could be wrong. Maybe someone will recognize themselves.
The second photo from the left is Winnie Roberts (61), next a girl I do
not remember her name, Beth Wolfer (62) and Rita Goldstein (61).
The third photo from the bottom row left: Patti Fine, Diane Braverman,
top row left: Barbara Scarlatta, Carol Berkson and Beth Wolfer all class
1962.
I currently live in Lake Oswego Oregon
with my wonderful husband Richie Wolff (I know, you all thought I just
shortened my last name from Wolfer to Wolff). I have a 29 year old
daughter who lives in London England and a 26 year old son who lives in
Denver. I also have a step-son who lives in NYC and a step daughter in
Oregon and two step-grandchildren. Richie and I retired last year
and we have been enjoying traveling the world and enjoying our retirement.
I have tried to get more information
regarding the reunion cruise next year but I have not received any answers
from my two emails asking for more information. Does anyone know
where this cruise is origination from and where it is going?
I would enjoy hearing from anyone who
remembers me and sharing stores from our youth. I was friend with
Joyce Krain (who I found out this summer had died four years ago), Carol
Kramer (who I lost contact with in California in the early 70's), Rita
Goldstein (61), Harriet Aronson, Carol Berkson, and others who's names
are escaping me now. I am computer literate, I have a scanner, digital
camera and a computer system I built. I also have the Dolphin from 1961
and 1962 and the 1959 Cardoza JH year book if someone needs a copy of a
photo.
