You may be aware that for the
past 10 years I have been involved with an event now called MDA's
Wings Over Wall Street. Wings was founded by my late
sister-in-law and my brother, Warren Schiffer FRHS '74, after
my sister-in-law was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
(ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS killed my
sister-in-law and my colleague Peter Demmerle. In nine years,
Wings has raised over $8.5 million for research to find a cure for
ALS.
We invite you, your
colleagues, family and friends, and your organization to join the Wings
community and become sponsors and donors and help us reach our 10th
Anniversary goal of $10 million in ten years. Wings sponsors
include nearly every major Wall Street player, including this year's
Presenting Sponsor RBC Capital Markets, and others like Bloomberg, Bank
of America Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, and Weeden & Co.
Additionally, we have been fortunate to have the sponsorship of many
of my friends in the insurance and legal industries, including

Wings' 10th Anniversary
gala will be held this year on September 30, from 5:30 to 9:30
at Gotham Hall, 1356 Broadway, New York. Each year we host
around 1000 guests to celebrate the lives of those living with ALS, the
memories of those who have passed, and hope for a cure in the

No contribution is too
small. Auction donations are needed and welcomed. You
can sponsor a minute of research for $100. Tickets to
the 10th Anniversary gala are $300. Contact the MDA for
