A few of us went
trick or treating together and were at a home on Reade's Lane. It
was one of
those two-door
entries, where you opened an outer door and went into a smalll entry
vestibule and
then rang a doorbell to either a
right or left door. I remember distinctly we were at the left
hand
door facing forward. Rang and waited
until a woman answered, opening the door. We all chimed
“Trick or Treat” as she began reaching for the
treats. At that moment, the husband, who had snuck
in unobserved behind us, shrieked “BOOO!!”
and jumped into the air. Here it is over a half-century
later and I still remember the shock.
