The Police Station (101st Precinct) is located at the eastern end of Mott Avenue.  I remember seeing wrecked vehicles stored in a small alleyway directly to the west side of the station.  Back in the early 1970s, it was rumored that a major Frank Sinatra movie (The Detective) which was filmed in the Rockaway area actually
used this particular police station for "inside shots."  In typical Hollywood "magic," scenes taken "outside" did not show any of the local area - but rather depicted a generic town - typical of the particular era.  I found that disappointing.
