Let’s Play Ball!

On Thursday May 3, staff and students gathered to celebrate the opening of our beautiful new softball field.  The JROTC Color Guard opened the ceremony with a presentation of colors.  Our own Alvin Monroe (Resource Specialist) sang the Star Spangled Banner, and Principal Rinda Bartley threw out the first pitch and was presented with a ball signed by the team and an Olympic Flames softball cap.  The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Ron Redding, longtime Olympic softball coach.  The Olympic Flames were victorious over the visiting team, Laguna High School, with a score of 25 to 3.

Olympic Day is Coming!

On Friday May 25, we will hold our annual Oly Day event.  During our regular period 3 – period 5 (11:00 – 1:15) students and staff will relax and spend time together doing traditional springtime activities.  There will be volleyball, the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, music, a softball game between staff and students, sidewalk chalk art, bingo, a movie room, and of course the hotdog BBQ.  If parents would like to contribute funds to support the event, or assist with set up, clean up, cooking or serving lunch, please call 687-0363 to let us know.

Prom IS ON!

Olympic’s first prom in 10 years is happening!  On Saturday evening May 19, we will gather at the Concord Holiday Inn for a glamorous evening of dining and dancing.  The student Prom Committee and their Leadership advisors have been hard at work planning colors, selecting the menu and theme, and working with the hotel on decorations and set up.  It should be a fabulous evening.  Many, many thanks to Comcast for their financial support, encouragement, advice for and belief in the student leaders who are making this event happen
