Harvey Altman, Class of 1972

A big "thank you" to Harvey for sending along these wonderful photos from the 1960's.  Harvey actually graduated from White Plains High School in 1972.  But........the Rockaway Web Site is dedicated to bringing former Rockaway residents together no matter where they graduated from.  Once a Rockawayite, always a Rockawayite...........

Harvey Altman, Class of 1972 joins us from Delray Beach, FL and writes the following.

Dear Skip,

Thanks for all you help and efforts on the Rockaway Web Site.  It's great to be listed with some of "the guys" of my Rockaway days.  I actually graduated from White Plains High School in 1972.  I'm now living in Delray Beach, FL building custom motorized devices for home theater installations.  TV's that lower from the ceiling, speakers that "pop-out" of the floor, etc.....I've been divorced for quite some time now. (OK, twice!)  It's great to be back!

Harvey can be reached at theharvinator@webtv.net

Dear Harvey,

Thanks so much for the great photos as well as your financial contribution to keep the Rockaway Web Site alive and well.

ROCKAWAY WOMAN
WINS TRIP TO PUERTO RICO

Mrs. Ina Altman of Arverne the happy winner of Albrecht's "Charge Account" contest held this past week is shown viewing the contest poster (which she is keeping as a souvenir) and holding her lucky charge plate.  The winner and her husband Sidney "Shep" Altman will spend two weeks at the Caribe-Hilton Hotel in Puerto Rico.  Albrecht's store manager Fred Wendrow said that all expenses will be paid by Albrecht's and arrangements will be handled by the Tri-Travel Agency including the round trip via Eastern Airlines jet.

The contest promoting Albrecht's revloving charge account plan was open to all their patrons.  Eligibility was simply having a charge plate or filling out an application card for one.  Albrecht's advertising agency selected the winner.

Mr. Wendrow announced that the contest was a huge success and that the store will have many new contests in the near future.  Albrecht's is located at 1063 Beach 20th Street in Far Rockaway
